An error message occurs when you start office dictionary, especially after re-installing it.

Problem

When you open the office dictionary, you receive an error about a bad dictionary. This occurs e.g. after re-installing the office dictionary. The error message reads:

Error opening the dictionary. Either it is not a translate dictionary, the file is corrupted, or another program is using the file.

Solution

After re-installing the program your personal settings may have become incorrect and must be reset to defaults. Please proceed as follows:

1. Open the office dictionary program menu. (Instruction on opening the program menu are available here.)
2. Choose "Settings".
3. Click "Reset all options."
